An Amber Autumn
Autumn has blown into the shop in a twirly whirlwind of tangy yellows, warming auburns, and fresh ivory. Heading into this season of balance and change, our rails are rustling with supple silk and textured tweeds.
With the right coat and some sly styling, you’ll be perfectly dressed no matter the mood of our fickle weather. Dusty, soft rose with a strong silhouette makes a mainstay in any autumnal wardrobe. Even though it may be getting too chilly to show off your summer pieces, with bold block colour outerwear, you can still turn heads.
From Mary’s personal archive collection, the 1930s aqua gown tempts Dress lovers with its sequined, slippery siren call. Proving that autumn can be just as vibrant as summer, hues of lemon, green, and amber come together to give the shop a golden glow.
Take the 1960s Frank Usher dress in tangy chartreuse, printed with a bold floral print. Or the 1930s broderie anglaise dress in soft white, complete with delicate cut-out details. Flirty party ensembles float and billow under our rails. Fluffy 1950s dresses, layered with dreamy tulle and chiffon, hang softly in blushing tones.
Designs of the 1970s are our inspiration this season. Bold tones of lemon and amber colour abstract surface patterns. The sunshine yellow skirt from Adolfo ensnares attention with stark monochrome applique. Space dyed in shades of satsuma orange, our 1970s coat is elevated with a unique loopy shag texture and chic hood detail.
Hanging on our casual rail, the patterns and colours only get more daring. One highlight is the Mui Mui plaid pinafore dress, styled here with a maroon blouse.
We’ll soon be donning gloves, scarfs, and sensible boots – but for now, we can still trot around town with sweet blouses and puffy skirts. Make the most of the dwindling sunshine and hurry in store to catch our September collection before our next rail refresh.
