  • Ode to Autumn

    It’s September, “Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness – thou hast thy Music too,” As Keats would have it in his Ode to Autumn 1819.

     

    This month our inspiration is taken from September - – the portal month between summer, with her skies halcyon blue and pink evening clouds, and approaching Autumn with her calling card of fiery leaves and frosty breezes.

     

    And yet, this September has started like no other.

    Chic and oh-so effortless tea-dresses are the focus of our May collection; with their light weight and easy style-ability they are a staple piece for the warm weather months! In unique and exciting prints on cottons, linens and silks, you can dress down with pumps, straw hat and favourite sunnies for picnics and sightseeing.   • 1950s Delights for April

    With signature favourites from iconic Fashion House Horrockses, we bring you pieces from their golden era in the signature stripe, unique and charming florals, and geometric surprises. Other designers gracing our rails this month are 1950s and 60s couture Jacques Heim, as well as  Frank Usher also from the mid-century.
  • The Year Marches On

    This month at Dress, we have followed a colour themed inspiration, to reflect our feeling of connection with Mother Earth.

    The pale azure of uplifting summer skies in mid century pieces, including our favourite tule ball gown by Bellville Et Cie, worn by Ann Hathaway in 2006. As well as a divine Ceil Chapman silk cocktail dress. Our white evening and wedding dresses: the billowing clouds drifting by.

    Here at DRESS, we can’t wait to bound into 2022 and get back to doing what we love best!  Hence, our spring newsletter comes earlier this year before buds have burst and days lengthen. A new optimism is rustling our metaphorical petals.

    While later this month mischief is afoot when Halloween casts its wicked spell upon the darkening days of November, so it is that with a focus the little black dress, interspersed with flirty frocks in chocolate and toffee shades, strong marine party attire and soft cream wedding gowns, we’re ready to dress every event in Dorset. From espresso chiffons to cappuccino velvets. Latte foam lace and mocha tule. Pumpkin spiced tweeds and ginger knits.
